SEATTLE - The Washington baseball team takes on the University of British Columbia tonight (Tuesday) at Husky Ballpark in a 6:00 p.m. game. While the game will serve as an exhibition for the Huskies and will not count in their stats, it is a counting game for the Thunderbirds, who compete against an all-American schedule as a member of the NAIA.
The T-Birds enter tonight's game with an overall record of 17-11 and a 15-4 conference mark. Washington is 20-18 overall and 6-6 in Pac-10 play.
The Huskies will send senior right-hander Elliott Cribby to the mound tonight for his first start this season. Last year, Cribby, while primarily a reliever, started five games.
Wednesday, the Huskies travel to Orem, Utah, where they'll play a three-game, non-conference series at Utah Valley State College. Game times are 6:00 p.m. PDT on Thursday and Friday and 12 noon on Saturday. Washington will utilize the same pitching rotation as last weekend, with starters Jorden Merry, Nick Haughian and Jason Erickson set to start the three games, in that order.
Following the UVSC series, the Huskies return to Seattle for a big, three-game series vs. Oregon State. Game one of that series, May 4 at 7:30 p.m., will be played at Safeco Field. Saturday and Sunday's games will take place at Husky Ballpark.
