SEATTLE - ESPN College GameDay Driven by State Farm will broadcast live from the University of Washington on Feb. 20 prior to the 6:00 p.m. basketball matchup between the Huskies and UCLA. The University of Washington is one of just eight universities chosen by ESPN, out of 343 Division I basketball programs, for a live GameDay broadcast this season.
The show, which is the college basketball version of ESPN's popular College GameDay football series, will originate from Bank of America Arean at 8 a.m. PT. The College GameDay crew of Rece Davis, Jay Bilas, Hubert Davis, Bobby Knight and Digger Phelps will be on hand, breaking down the day's college basketball action and previewing the Washington-UCLA matchup.
Doors to Bank of America Arena will open at 6:30 a.m. to students and the general public, with live look-ins from ESPN starting at 7:00 a.m.
The event is free with no tickets required. Parking is $15 in lots south of Husky Stadium and $7 in E-1. Both Bank of America Arena entrances (NW & SW) will be open. The Dawg Pack will enter through the normal student entrance on the NW porch.
Free GameDay t-shirts will be handed out to the first 600 UW students and Top Pot donuts will be handed out while supplies last. Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate will be served, but concession stands will be closed.
Saturday's game starts at 6:00 p.m. PT. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for all those with tickets. Dan Shulman will call play-by-play and Bob Knight and Jay Bilas will provide color analysis.
ESPN will give one fan from the audience a chance to sink a half-court shot. If successful, the shooter will receive $17,500, courtesy of State Farm. Even if the shot is missed, the attempt will earn a check for $1,000. State Farm also will distribute rollabannas to fans in attendance.
