LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - Jay Straight scored 18 points to lead Wyoming over Washington 92-76 on Saturday.

Dion Sherrell and Mory Correa added 16 points each for the Cowboys (3-2) while Joe Ries added 10.

Washington (3-2) was led by Curtis Allen's 18 points, on six 3-pointers, while Bobby Jones had 14 and Will Conroy 12.

The Cowboys enjoyed their biggest lead, 38 points, at 61-23 after a reverse layup by Correa with 17:18 remaining.

The Huskies slapped on a full-court press and fought to within 13 points over a 10-minute stretch. Brandon Roy's steal and layin with 6:56 remaining cut the lead to 77-64.

Allen hit 5-of-7 3-pointers in six-and-a-half minutes as the Huskies whittled the margin to 80-69 with 5:32 left.

However, the Cowboys made all eight of their free throws down the stretch, including six in a row by Straight, to secure the win.

Sherrell scored 10 points in the first half as Wyoming blitzed to a 49-19 lead at intermission.

Washington missed its first 11 shots and fell behind 7-0 before Anthony Washington's dunk at the 14:02 mark of the opening half.

The Cowboys won the rebound battle 52-30, led by Ries with 11.
