SEATTLE - Washington senior pole vaulter Kate Soma, the reigning Pac-10 pole vault champion, will field questions from fans in a live internet chat Thursday night at the internet home for collegiate track and field, Trackshark.com.

Fans can begin posting their questions for Soma to the Trackshark Chat Wrap at 5 p.m. PST on Thursday, with the forum scheduled to run until 6 p.m. PST.

A three-time NCAA All-American, Soma won last year's Pac-10 pole vault title with a personal-best clearance of 14 feet, 2 inches, the fifth-best outdoor vault in NCAA history, and the 10th-best overall. The Portland, Ore., native qualified for the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials, and was the NCAA runner-up during the 2004 outdoor season.

Soma is already an NCAA qualifier in 2005 with a legal season best of 13-3 3/4, and ranks 13th among American women in the current IAAF World Rankings.
