CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) -Jon Brockman had 16 points and nine rebounds for Washington after the Huskies took charge in the second half of an 85-59 win over Oregon State on Saturday.
Washington outscored the Beavers 30-15 in the first 10 minutes of the second half after trailing by as many as seven in the first half."The first half of the first half we were just kind of feeling them out," said Husky Head Coach Lorenzo Romar. "We felt once we settled down and figured out what was going on, that we would be able to get the ball inside. I felt we defended them well. We were smart defensively, we got good shots off of it. I was really pleased with how we handled our business tonight."
Washington (13-4, 4-1 Pac-10) led 52-38 five minutes into the second half and went ahead by as many as 27.
Oregon State (6-10, 1-5) got no closer than 19 in the final nine minutes.
Seth Tarver had 16 points to lead the Beavers.
