The 31st-ranked Washington men's golf team heads down to Stanford, Calif., this weekend for the U.S. Intercollegiate. The event, hosted by Stanford University, will be played at the par-70, 6,742-yard Stanford Golf Course.
The tournament schedule calls for 36 holes of play Saturday, April 15 with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start. Sunday's final round will feature 18 holes of play, beginning at 8 a.m. California, Hawaii-Hilo, Kansas, Long Beach St., Northern Colorado, Oregon, Oregon St., Rice, San Diego St., San Jose St., Stanford, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UCLA, USC, Washington, and Washington St. make up the 17-team field.
Junior Alex Prugh leads Washington with a 72.48 stroke average and was the UW's top finisher at the Huskies' last event, the Augusta State Invitational, where he placed 19th. Junior Erik Olson, the 2005 Pac-10 Champion, and senior James Lepp, the 2005 NCAA Champion, are also featured in the Husky lineup, along with freshman John Wise and sophomore Sterling Clark.
