Men's & Women's Rowing Ranked in the Top-10 to Begin the 2007 Season

Seattle, Wash. - Washington rowing earned a pair of top-10 rankings in the first coaches' polls this season.

The men received four first-place votes to earn top billing the USRowing Varsity Eight Collegiate Coaches Poll, just edging Pac-10 rival California. Rounding out the top five in the men's poll were Yale, Brown and Harvard.

In the women's poll, the UW program was awarded a No. 7 ranking, behind top-ranked California in the USRowing/Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association NCAA Division I Varsity Eight Coaches Poll.

This weekend at the Husky Open, the UW will race against crews from the 18th-ranked Washington State women's program, as well as the top-ranked Division II program, Western Washington.
