SEATTLE - Junior Kaitlin Inglesby from the softball team has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of April 1-7.
The Portland, Ore., native was outstanding in the circle, winning all five games she appeared in on the week. She won two games at UCLA, both complete game shutouts, and all three at home vs. Oregon State, both nationally ranked teams.
She allowed just four runs on the week and walked three. She started game one vs. OSU pitching the complete game in the 14-2 victory in five innings. She entered in relief in games two and three to get the wins.
UW swept UCLA in LA and OSU at home and has a seven-game winning streak. It was the first-ever three-game conference sweep on the road and the first time the UW has won three-straight against UCLA since 2004.
The Huskies clinched the series against UCLA, their first series win over the Bruins since 2010 in Seattle over UCLA with the two wins on Tuesday.
It was the first time since 2010 that UW had swept two-straight conference series' after the wins over Oregon State on Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday she was also named the College Sports Madness Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week.
Other nominees include: Women's Freshmen 8 (women's crew), Men's Varsity 8 (men's crew), Lauren Rogers (gymnastics), Tyler Davis (baseball), Chris Williams (men's golf), Kyle McMorrow (men's tennis), Mel Lawrence (women's track & field), Joey Bywater (men's track & field) and Riko Shimizu (women's tennis).
