SEATTLE - University of Washington placed one defensive standout and one offensive stalwart in Daniel Te'o-Nesheim and Ben Ossai on the 2006 Sporting News Pacific-10 Conference All-Freshman Team, the publication announced recently.
Te'o-Nesheim started all 12 games for the Huskies at the defensive end position and concluded the season ninth on the team with 35 total tackles. His 10 tackles for loss tied for the third-most on the squad, while his three sacks tied for second.

Ossai played in all 12 games for the UW and started 11 at the left tackle position on the offensive line. A native of Bakersfield, Calif., he joins center Juan Garcia and right tackle Chad Macklin as returning starters on the offensive line next season.
As one of five players who participated in nearly every down during the season, Ossai helped anchor a Husky offensive line that finished ranked fourth in the Pac-10 in sacks allowed.
Washington ended its season on Nov. 18 with a 35-32 Apple Cup win at Washington State in the 99th meeting between the two schools. The Huskies finished the year with a 5-7 record. The UW opens the 2007 season on Sept. 1 at Syracuse. The Huskies play six home games next season with a Husky Stadium schedule that includes Boise State, Ohio State, USC, California, Oregon, Arizona and Washington State.
