SEATTLE - UWTV will present one of the greatest moments in Washington women's basketball history with a replay of a 2001 Huskies' win over Oregon State on Monday night at 7 p.m. (PST).
During the Elite Eight season of 2000-01, the Huskies faced their share of challenges. It could be argued that none was tougher than the Huskies' 69-67 win against the Beavers at Bank of America Arena on Jan. 20, 2001. The contest featured an otherworldly performance from senior star Megan Franza, who scored 28 points in the narrow victory. This helped the UW offset a collective scoring effort from Oregon State, who featured four players in double digits. The game also features current Huskies assistant coach Loree Payne, who supported Franza's outburst with 15 points of her own.
Remember, fans can continue reliving all the great moments in UW athletics history through Husky Classics at 7 p.m. every Monday on UWTV. For more information, visit uwtv.org/sports.
