SEATTLE - Washington tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins has earned a spot on the first team of three Freshman All-America squads and made the second team on another.
Seferian-Jenkins, a true freshman from Fox Island, Wash. (Gig Harbor High), was named a first-team Freshman All-America by CBSSports.com, College Football News and FoxSportsNext while making the second team from Yahoo (which didn't list a first-team tight end).
Classmate Kasen Williams (Sammamish, Wash./Skyline) earned honorable mention from College Football News.
Seferian-Jenkins finished his first regular season at the UW with 36 receptions for 479 yards and six touchdowns. His yardage total ranks No. 2 in UW history for a true freshman (any position) and is the third-highest total ever from a Husky tight end (any class).
The Huskies return to the practice field at the UW this Thursday through Monday in preparation for the Valero Alamo Bowl vs. Baylor on Dec. 29. The team departs for San Antonio on Dec. 23.
