SEATTLE - Sophomore tailback Chris Polk of the football team is the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 22-28. This is the first such honor for Polk on the season and the fourth for the football team.
The Redlands, Calif., native scored the game-winning touchdown at Cal to keep the Huskies' bowl hopes alive.
Polk scored from one-yard out with one second remaining for the 16-13 victory. He had 88 total rushing yards in the game to lead the team and seven yards receiving.
Polk ran 5 yards with the direct snap out of Wildcat formation for a key third down on the final, 79-yard drive to bedlam that used the game's final 4:39.
He leads the team on the season with six rushing touchdowns, a season-high, and 1,001 yards.
