SEATTLE -- The Husky men's basketball team was back practicing at Hec Edmundson Pavilion on Tuesday after spending the weekend down in Lacey at St. Martin's College. Coach Lorenzo Romar briefly met with the media to discuss his thoughts on the first couple of practice sessions held at St. Martin's and also divulged some news.

Freshman Desmond Simmons has been cleared to rejoin his teammates for drills after undergoing arthoscopic knee surgery several weeks ago and was back on the court participating. The news on senior Venoy Overton wasn't quite so good as he suffered a slight setback with his hamstring and will miss a couple weeks so he can fully recover.

Sophomore Aziz N'Diaye was a popular topic among reporters on Tuesday and Romar cautioned the group to not annoint him the next coming of Shaquille O'Neal quite yet. Romar reminded the crowd that he has been out of basketball shape for over a year and N'Diaye is coming off an ACL tear. Romar is still pleased at what he has seen from his seven-footer.
