THIS WEEK: The Washington baseball team (26-24 overall, 9-12 in the Pac-10 Conference) plays its final home games of the year this weekend as northwest rival Oregon (34-18 overall, 10-11 in the Pac-10) visits for a three-game weekend series. Both teams sit in the middle of the congested Pac-10 standings as third through ninth place are separated by only two games with six games left to play for each conference school. The Ducks are ranked No. 22 in this week's Baseball America ranking and tied for 23rd in the USA Today coaches' poll, and have a Tuesday game vs. Portland prior to coming to Seattle for this weekend. Game times are 6:00 p.m. on Friday, 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. Sunday's game will celebrate Senior Day, as the Huskies will bid adieu to four senior players: Bradley Boyer, Doug Cherry, Max Kwan and Aaron Russell. Both the Saturday and Sunday games will air live on Comcast SportsNet/Oregon SportsNet (check your local listings for the channel in your area). Due to the live television coverage on Saturday and Sunday, live video on gohuskies.com will only be provided for Friday's game. Live Gametracker stats will be available for all three, via gohuskies.com.The UW will start freshman RHP Adam Cimber on Friday and sophomore RHP Andrew Kittredge on Saturday. Sunday's starter has yet to be determined. After the Oregon series, the Huskies close out the regular seasonn with a three-game set at USC May 28-30. Here's a look at this weekend's action:

Fri., May 21: Oregon at UW, 6 p.m.
Sat., May 22: Oregon at UW, 2 p.m. - TV: Live on Comcast SportsNet
Sun., May 23: Oregon at UW, 1 p.m. - TV: Live on Comcast SportsNet

COACH MEGGS: Lindsay Meggs was named the Huskies' new head coach in July of 2009, just the third different UW head coach in 34 years. Meggs came to the UW after having spent the last three seasons at Indiana State and the 13 prior to that at Chico State, where he won NCAA Division II national championships in 1997 and 1999. He helped Chico to the D-II College World Series seven times and won the league eight times. At Indiana State, he was named Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2009 after guiding the Sycamores to a second-place finish, their highest since 1998. Meggs currently boasts a 641-331-4 record over 16-plus seasons as a four-year college head coach. He'd previously served as head coach at Long Beach City College and Oxnard College. Born in San Jose and a graduate of Saratoga (Calif.) High, Meggs played four seasons as the starting third baseman at UCLA. He was drafted by the Brewers in 1983, and then again by the Royals after his senior year in 1984. Meggs is joined by assistant coaches Dave Nakama, Greg Moore and Kevin Ticen.

SERIES HISTORY: Washington has a long history against Oregon, though prior to last season when Oregon re-started its baseball program, the two hadn't met on the baseball diamond since 1981, the season after which Oregon dropped baseball. Including this year's results (in two games at Eugene March 2-3 of this season), the Ducks hold a 134-122-1 advantage in the all-time series. Earlier this year, the Ducks and Dawgs split a pair of non-conference games in Eugene. Oregon won the first game, 6-2, and the Huskies won the second, 5-3. Last season, the UW and Oregon played two non-conference games in Seattle, two games in Portland as part of a tournament and three games in Eugene in Pac-10 play. The Huskies swept the two games in Seattle early in the season, winning 5-3 and 10-2. In the Pac-10 series April 24-26 in Eugene, the Huskies swept the three games, 11-2, 2-0 and 6-3. Prior to last season, the Huskies and Ducks last played one another in the final two games of the 1981 regular season. That year, the UW and UO had to play a pair of makeup games as the Pac-10 North championship couldn't be determined until games previously rained out were played. So, the Huskies traveled to Eugene and won, 5-4 and 5-1, two win the division crown.
