SEATTLE - The Washington Husky men's basketball is ranked 21st in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll released on Tuesday, one day after Duke beat Butler to win the NCAA Championship. Washington returned to the rankings for the first time since Jan. 4 when the Huskies were 22nd in the Coaches poll and 25th in the Associated Press rankings.
Washington finished the season 26-10 overall and made it the the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 for the third time in the last six years. The Huskies were 11-7 in the Pac-10 regular season, but went on to win the Pacific Life Pac-10 Tournament Championship. Under Lorenzo Romar the Huskies have finished the season ranked in the top 25 four times.
Duke ended up ranked number one, followed by Butler, West Virginia, Michigan State, Kentucky, Kansas, Kansas State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Baylor. For a look at the complete top-25 rankings, please visit ESPN.com at: http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/rankings.
