Washington Finishes Seventh at Waikoloa Invitational

Waikoloa, Hawaii - The 21st-ranked Washington men's golf team shot an 8-over 292 in the final round to finish seventh at the Waikoloa Invitational with a 54-hole score of 864. Georgia Tech preserved the lead it held throughout the event, shooting a 6-under 278 on the final day to edge runner-up Oklahoma State by 14 strokes. Georgia Tech's Cameron Tringale took home medalist honors at 11-under 202.

Husky junior Alex Prugh had the best round of the day for UW, carding a 2-under 69 to finish the event in 11th place with a 210. Senior James Lepp finished a stroke behind his teammate - his 211 good for 14th in the field - after shooting 1-over 72 in the final round.

Junior Erik Olson's final round 75 put him in 55th with a three round total of 221. Sterling Clark finished 75th after shooting a 76 on day three, while Joe Panzeri's 80 placed him in 92nd.

Washington's next tournament is the Ashworth Invitational Feb. 27-28.
