SEATTLE -- No. 45 Washington took a quick break from conference play to host Sacramento State on Saturday at the Nordstrom Tennis Center. The Dawgs played well, knocking off the Hornets, 5-2.

The win moved Washington to 12-9 on the season with just one regular season match left to play.

The Dawgs began Saturday by winning the doubles point as two matches were decided quickly in the Huskies' favor. Julija Lukac and Andjela Nemcevic lost only one game on the way to an 8-1 victory at No. 3. Moments later, Natali Coronel and Grace Ysidora clinched the point by winning at No. 2, 8-2.

At No. 1 doubles, Elianne Douglas-Miron and Riko Shimizu were upset by Rebeca Delgado and Olivia Boija, 8-7 and 8-6 in the tiebreak.

In singles, the Dawgs clinched the team victory with three-straight wins coming in straight sets. Shimizu led things off with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Andrea Gomes Carus. She was followed by Douglas-Miron who defeated Sophie Lohschedidt, 6-2, 6-1.

Earning the clinching victory was Ysidora. The Husky freshman, playing at No. 2, defeated Jennifer Nguyen, 6-2, 6-4.

The Hornets got on the board when Rebeca Delgado outlasted Nemcevic, 6-4, 7-5. Then, Katharina Knoebel won a third-set tiebreak over Coronel, 3-6, 6-3, 11-9, to give Sacramento State its other point.

Finishing things off was Lukac, who came from behind to beat Boija, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

Next up for Washington is its rivalry match against Washington State. The Dawgs and Cougars will compete on Saturday, April 20, at noon. The match will also be picked up via tape delay by the Pac-12 Networks.
