TUCSON, Ariz. - The host Wildcats evened the Pac-12 opening series against Washington with a 7-4 victory Saturday afternoon.

Both teams are now 1-1 in league play as No. 17/17 Washington falls to 23-8 and No. 16/22 Arizona improves to 21-9.

Each team had 10 hits in the game as the Huskies were led by Kylee Lahners and Victoria Hayward, with two each.

It was a back-and-forth game through the first five innings with Arizona taking the lead in the first. Singles for the first two hitters in the lineup and a double drove them in for a two-run Wildcat lead in the first.

Washington got one back in third as Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) led off with a single. Freshman Kylee Lahners (Laguna Hills, Calif.) tied up the game.

Arizona took back the lead in the third. The Wildcats got the bases loaded after a walk, fielder's choice and two singles. A single to center drove in two.

The Huskies once again tied the game in the fourth on a two-run home run by Taukeiaho. Junior Whitney Jones (Upland, Calif.) also scored after drawing a walk earlier in the inning.

In the fifth, the Wildcats sealed the game with a Chelsea Goodacre solo home run and a two-run home run by Mandie Perez.

Junior Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) pitched the complete game for the Huskies and is now 12-4 on the year. She allowed 10 hits and struck out five.

Shelby Babcock (10-3) got the complete game victory for Arizona.
