Game 5: Belmont vs. Wright State
Wright State Head Coach Brad Brownell
"I'm proud of our guys. I thought we played really well the majority of the last two games and played reasonably well against Washington. It's a great tournament because there's a lot of good teams here. All these teams will have winning seasons and do well. For us to come out and go 2-1, I'm really proud of our guys."
"We had to play three different kinds of teams. All the teams are aggressive offensively, so that helped us in some ways in terms of exploiting some defensive things we need to work on. Also, forcing us to score and to be an aggressive team offensively."
Belmont Head Coach Rick Byrd
"We didn't play as well as we did in the first two games, but I give Wright State a lot of credit for that. I did think that we didn't give up and because we're so young, I don't know what kind of heart we've got till we see it. I thought we played a good team that thoroughly outplayed us. I thought we never gave up and I thought we did a nice job of establishing an inside presence.
"We made a little run down the end and cut it to 15. I know that doesn't sound great, but when you're down 22 that actually is pretty good. Their No. 3 (Troy Tabler) made a couple big three's and sort of took the chance to win away. There was more immediacy down the final 10-15 minutes than there was in the first 25. Young guys have just got to learn that and then they've got to not forget it."
