SEATTLE - For the second straight year, University of Washington football season ticket holders will get a pleasant surprise when their 2009 renewal notification arrives in the mail at the end of next month as the cost of season tickets to attend the Huskies' seven games next season did not increase over the 2008 season.
In January, the Husky Ticket Office will begin the process of delivering renewal notices to Washington's season ticket holders, which will include a new value ticket plan.
"As everyone is aware, the current financial climate has taken its toll in many ways," said UW athletic director Scott Woodward. "Despite the fact that operating expenses continue to rise, we know that this isn't the time to ask for more from our season-ticket buyers. We're also happy to be able to offer a new, more affordable option to our fans."
Husky fans purchasing Tyee or public reserved season tickets will pay $390 per seat. Season tickets for UW faculty and staff and for recent graduates will remain at $312 while season tickets in the east end bleachers (general admission) will stay at $198.
Another, more affordable option will also be made available for the first time this season as a value season ticket will be on sale for $245. The value season ticket is for seats in the upper corners of the north and south upper decks.
For the third year in a row, Washington will play seven home games as part of a schedule that will once again be considered one of the toughest in the nation. The home slate for new head coach Steve Sarkisian includes the opener vs. LSU on Sept. 5, plus games against USC, California, Arizona, Idaho and traditional Northwest rivals Oregon and Washington State. Dates and times are tentative and subject to change.
Deposits are now being accepted for new football season ticket holders. For more information, contact the Husky Ticket Office at (206) 543-2200.
