Redshirt freshman Jenard Jarreau is ready to show Husky fans his skills on the court this season. The New Orleans, La., native averaged 17.9 points per game in high school and blocked 3 shots in last year's exhibition game vs. Georgia State. Jarreau sat down with GoHuskies.com to discuss the upcoming season.
GoHuskies.com: What are your expectations for the upcoming season?
Jenard Jarreau: I have high expectations! We are very confident this year. I've been out a whole year and my time is here now. I'm ready to get started.
GH: How is the team transitioning into the new offensive scheme?
JJ: Everyone is getting it down well. We've been working on it pretty much since the spring, but we were learning it all summer. I think it affects me more. It gets me more involved in games. I think everyone is starting to get it.
GH: What did you learn from redshirting last season?
JJ: I think it helped me a lot. Andrew (Andrews) and I are excited to show everyone what we can do this year.
GH: Who is your favorite NBA team?
JJ: Oklahoma City Thunder. I think they are going to go all the way this year. They have the experience and they went far last year, so I think they will be very good this year.
