The Washington baseball team returns home for a date with Seattle University Monday night at 5:00 p.m. at Husky Ballpark. The game was added to the schedule after the season began.
Washington (11-10) enters the game on a four-game winning streak that began last Tuesday at SeattleU, when the Huskies beat the Redhawks, 5-2. Over the weekend (actually Thursday through Saturday), the Huskies swept Dallas Baptist in a three-game series in Texas.
Monday night vs. the Redhawks, junior lefty Adrian Gomez (2-0, 3.62 ERA) will get the start. Last Tuesday, he started against SU and pitched four innings, allowing just one run on two hits. He didn't figure in the decision in that game, but did get the win last Thursday at DBU.
Monday's game kicks off a stretch of six straight against Northwest rivals. Next Thursday through Saturday, the Dawgs play host to Washington State in both teams' first Pac-10 series of the season. The following Tuesday and Wednesday (April 6-7), the Huskies face Gonzaga in a pair of non-conference games in Spokane before returning home for a three-game, weekend series vs. Arizona.
