Nov. 28, 2005

Senior inside linebacker Joe Lobendahn was named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference second team today as the conference office announced its All-Pac-10 football teams for 2005.

Lobendahn, from Honolulu, Hawaii, started nine games for the Huskies in 2005, sitting out the last two after injuring his knee vs. Oregon State. He finished the season with 76 total tackles and two interceptions. Last week, he was voted a team captain, defensive MVP and most inspirational by his teammates prior to the team's awards banquet.

Three other Huskies earned honorable mention: senior linebacker Evan Benjamin (Redmond, Wash.), junior punter Sean Douglas (Bellevue, Neb.) and junior safety C.J. Wallace (Sacramento, Calif.).

The conference's coaches, who vote on the All-Pac-10 team, named USC's Reggie Bush the Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. Oregon's Haloti Ngata and Arizona State's Dale Robinson split the Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year Award while USC's Pete Carroll and UCLA's Karl Dorrell shared the Coach of the Year honor.

Oregon State's Jeremy Perry and Arizona's Michael Thomas were named Co-Freshmen of the Year.
