Weekly Release: Huskies Heading To Cali For Wooden Classic
Tuesday Videos (paid subscription required): Lorenzo Romar
Free: Quincy Pondexter | Isaiah Thomas

The team poses with Tinkerbell outside of the ESPN Zone in downtown Disney.

7:00 p.m. - Coach Romar returned from the coaches press conference and the entire team and travel party loaded a bus for the ESPN Zone in downtown Disney. We enjoyed a meal with every conceivable sports event playing on the multitude of televisions.

The main focus was on watching the Portland Trail Blazers and Cleveland Cavaliers game, where ex-Husky player Brandon Roy and Seattle-native Martell Webster took on LeBron James and the Cavs.

The meal went well and while waiting for the bus to go back to the hotel, a young woman dressed as Tinkerbell approached the group for a photo opportunity (above). Only in the Happiest Place On Earth can you find a scene like that!

The guys will relax in their rooms before film study at 9:30 p.m. Wake up is at 7:30 a.m. and then the team will head to the arena at 9:00, so we have to sign off and

2:45 p.m. - Quick note. Coach Romar is catching a limo with Georgetown John Thompson III and Mississippi State coach Rick Stansbury to a 3:15 press conference at the Honda Center. To be a fly on that wall!

12:39 p.m. - The team is on the court right now at the Honda Center, formerly known as the Pond. We had to drive by Angels Stadium on the way...and there was no moving truck in sight for Chone Figgins.

The players lingered in the locker room for 25 minutes before taking the court. Darnell Gant caught up with GoHuskies.com while waiting (check out the interview below).

When they hit the court, they did their normal stretching and warm ups and are now taking part in a pretty intense practice session. Marques Johnson and Steve Physioc, who are calling the action tomorrow for FSN, are on the sidelines watching practice.

It is pretty cold in the arena, which serves as home for the NHL's Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Last night the venue played host to a Metallica concert and had 18,000 fans packed into it.

After practice, the team is returning to hotel for lunch, while coach Romar will stay back and conduct an interview with FSN. Check back later for more!

10:27 a.m. - Good morning from Anaheim!

Darnell Gant is amazed by his omelette on Friday morning.

Washington is scheduled to head to the Honda Center at 11:00 am today to meet with the media before conducting its last practice before taking on Georgetown. Coach Lorenzo Romar is the only member of the team not here yet, as he was out recruiting last night and caught a morning flight.

Although the coaching staff is not entirely here, those that are present are still busy pouring over film and constantly discussing how to beat Georgetown. It is safe to say that the Hoyas will present the greatest challenge to date. They are disciplined, well-coached, talented and athletic -- a combination that will cause many opposing coaching staff restless nights.

Since arriving in California, the team has ate twice - an excellent buffett dinner of fried chicken, corn on the cob, salad, mashed potatoes and baked macaroni last night - followed by a full-buffett breakfast that had everything imaginable to eat. Darnell Gant is pictured above with his custom-made omelette. The guys are probably looking forward to getting on the court this morning to run off everything have eaten in the last 12 hours!

After practice, the team will return to the hotel to eat lunch (again!) and then hit the books for study tables. While the players are studying, coach Romar and the coaches for UCLA, Mississippi State and Georgetown will meet with the media and legend John Wooden.

Check back later for more updates and photos!
