Final Stats

SEATTLE - Brittany Carter tied the Bank of America Arena scoring record with 49 points to lead Memphis to a 98-83 win over Sacramento State in the opening game of the Husky Classic on Friday.

Carter's scoring outburst tied Bob Houbregs, which was set on Jan. 1, 1953 against Idaho. The Tigers' (3-2) guard hit 16-of-28 from the floor, and also pulled down 11 rebounds. The 49 points broke the Husky Classic record - set by Megan Franza in 1999 - and the record for most points in Bank of America by a women's basketball player. That record was set by Giuliana Mendiola against UCLA on Feb. 1, 2003.

Charday Hunt and Jasmine Cannady each scored 20 points to pace Sacramento State, which fell to 1-4.

The Hornets will face Washington at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Husky Classic finale.
