Three Huskies Named to Pac-10 All-Academic Team

Seattle - Three Washington football players have been named second-team selections to the 2002 Pac-10 All-Academic team. Fullback Ty Eriks, wide receiver Matt DeBord and safety James Sims were selected by the Pac-10 Conference. Eriks, a redshirt freshman, has a 3.69 grade point average as an art major. DeBord, a senior, has a 3.56 GPA in business. Sims, also a redshirt freshman, has a 3.19 GPA in comparative literature.

Husky wide receiver Wilbur Hooks, free safety Jimmy Newell and tailback Chris Singleton were honorable mention selections.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant substitute. Following is the 2002 Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Football Team:
