WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Tailback Louis Rankin of Washington, quarterback Dennis Dixon and defensive end Nick Reed of Oregon and kicker Jason Bondzio of Arizona have been named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Football Players of the Week.

Rankin, a senior from Stockton, Calif., shared offensive player of the week honors with Dixon for leading Washington to a 27-9 road win at Stanford. Rankin rushed 36 times for 255 yards (7.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown. In addition, he had two pass receptions for 17 yards. The 255 yards rushing is the highest single-game total in the Pac-10 this year and the fourth-highest single-game total in Washington history. The Husky offense piled up 539 yards total offense, including 388 yards rushing.

Dixon and Reed played critical roles in Oregon's 35-23 showdown victory against No. 4-ranked (BCS) Arizona State. Dixon, a senior from San Leandro, Calif., threw four touchdown passes covering 26, 13, 27 and 19 yards, while completing 13 of 22 passes for 189 yards with no interceptions. He also rushed 11 times for 57 yards (5.2) to account for 246 of Oregon's 400 yards in total offense. It marked the third time this season Dixon has been accorded offensive player of the week honors.

Reed, a junior from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., earned defensive player of the week honors for the second time this season in leading the Ducks' defense against the Sun Devils. Reed posted 11 tackles, five solo, including five tackles for loss and 3.5 quarterback sacks (minus-25 yards). The Duck defense posted a total of nine quarterback sacks (-49) and limited Arizona State to just 2-of-13 third-down conversions.

Bondzio, a junior from Humble, Texas, hit two-of-two field goal attempts in Arizona's 34-27 win against UCLA. Bondzio connected from 39 and 48 yards, was also good on four PATs and averaged 62.4 yards on seven kickoffs.

Others nominated for offensive player of the week honors were quarterback Willie Tuitama of Arizona and tailback Justin Forsett of California. Also nominated on defense were linemen Everson Griffen of USC and Jordan Reffett of Washington and linebackers Zack Follett of California and Spencer Larsen of Arizona. Josh Syria of Oregon, Thomas Weber of Arizona State, Matthew Slater of UCLA and Jay Angotti of Washington were nominated for special teams play.
