Seattle - Washington junior wide receiver Reggie Williams has been named to a list of 10 semifinalists announced for the 2003 Biletnikoff Award, symbolic of college football's best receiver.
Williams has 58 receptions for 776 yards and seven touchdowns this season. He leads the Pac-10 with 7.25 receptions for the game and ranks 10th nationally in that category. Williams is 13th nationally in receiving yards per game at 97.0.
Williams has 3,203 career receiving yards to rank as Washington's all-time leader in that category. He ranks third in Pac-10 history with 3,265 (includes bowl games) receiving yards. Last season Williams was also a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award. He was named a first-team All-American by the Associated Press.
Joining him as 2003 Biletnikoff Award semifinalists are Pittsburgh's Larry Fitzgerald, Oklahoma State's Rashaun Woods, USC's Mike Williams, Texas' Roy Williams, Miami's Kellen Winslow, Oklahoma's Mark Clayton, LSU's Michael Clayton, North Carolina State's Jerricho Cotchery and Florida State's Craphonso Thorpe.
The winner of the award will be announced in December at the annual ESPN awards show at Disney World and feted at a February banquet in Tallahassee.
A panel of writers and broadcasters and a handful of former receivers, including Biletnikoff, make up the panel selected by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, which sponsors the award.
