SEATTLE - UWTV and FSN will present Jim Lambright's first game as Husky football head coach this Monday night at 7 p.m. as part of its weekly Husky Classics, a weekly series on UWTV featuring favorite University of Washington football and basketball games.

Check out FSN's original telecast of the Sept. 4, 1993 Stanford at Washington season-opening contest with Don Poier, and Chuck Nelson calling the action.

Lambright was an assistant coach for the Huskies for 24 seasons when he was elevated to head coach in late August 1993, following Don James' sudden resignation in protest of excessive NCAA and Pac-10 sanctions against the UW program.

Nearly 72,000 Husky fans showed-up to see the Dawgs host the Cardinal in Lambright's first game as head coach. The Everett, Wash. native went on to post a 44-25-1 record in charge of the Washington program.

On this day, his 12th-ranked troops faced No. 15 Stanford and rolled to an emotional 31-14 victory in Husky Stadium.

Continue reliving amazing touchdowns and thrilling three-pointers through Husky Classics at 7 p.m. every Monday on UWTV. For more information, visit uwtv.org/sports.
