Jan. 22, 2010
With the 2010 NCAA Outdoor Championships within driving distance of Seattle for the first time in several years, Husky fans should take the opportunity to see UW's top track stars at the biggest meet of the year. That means a trip to rival Oregon and Hayward Field on June 9-12.
Tickets go on sale today (Jan. 22) for the meet. The four-day, all-session ticket prices are $80 for reserved seating, $60 for adult general admission and $40 for youth and senior general admission.
Tickets will be available on line at www.goducks.com, via phone (1-800-932-3668/541-346-4461).
For the first time in its history, the NCAA Championships will feature a streamlined competition schedule with each of the four days featuring only semifinals or finals.
Washington returns five athletes that scored at last year's NCAA meet in Fayetteville, Arkansas, including Scott Roth (second in the men's pole vault), Mel Lawrence (third in the women's steeplechase), Anita Campbell (third in the women's 10,000m), Kyle Nielsen (sixth in the men's javelin), and Brooke Pighin (seventh in the women's javelin). Katie Follett and Christine Babcock also made the finals in the women's 5,000 and 1,5000-meters, respectively.
