SEATTLE - The University of Washington track and field program, in conjuction with the Tacoma Freedom Fair and PoleVaultPower.com, will bring the region's top pole vaulters together for a day of fun in the sun at the July 4th Tacoma Freedom Fair Pole Vault Championships at Tacoma's x Beach.
An annual highlight of the Northwest pole vaulting schedule, this year's "beach vault" -- held on a 150-foot Ricks Ultra-Fast Wood Runway placed in the sand at xx Beach in xxx -- will include many of the region's top vaulters, including 2006 NCAA champion Kate Soma (formerly of Washington), 2004 NCAA champion Becky Holliday (formerly of Oregon), and numerous other past and present collegiate stars. The region's top prep vaulters will also be in attendance, allowing the next generation of pole vault superstars to meet and compete with some of the college ranks' all-time greats.
Entry is open to vaulters of all ages and skill levels, with competitions to be held at the Masters', high school and high-school elite levels, as well as the much-anticipated Elite Men's and Women's Vault.

Due to the limited amount of space in the competition, entries must be received no later than Friday, June 28 to guarantee a position in the meet. Entries will be taken the day of the meet if space permits.
