SEATTLE -- Desmond Simmons began the 2010-11 hoops season behind the eight ball, but he did not dwell on his adversity. The freshman from Vallejo, Calif. suffered a slight knee injury during open gym late this summer and is just returning full speed to the court.
What he hopes to show Husky fans is a diverse, high-energy game that will remind the UW faithful of Bobby Jones. Simmons is okay with that comparison for now, but plans on carving out his own name during his four years at Washington.
