Boudon Drafted By Baltimore On Draft's Second Day

University of Washington outfielder Chad Boudon was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 42nd round of Major League Baseball's first-year player draft, which ended today. Boudon was the only Husky player selected on the second and final day of the draft, which consisted of rounds 21 through 50.

A fourth-year junior from Shorewood High, Boudon transferred to the UW prior to this season from the University of Hawaii. In his first season as a Husky, he broke the school's single-season record with 22 home runs. He also led the team with 58 runs batted in while hitting .287.

Tuesday, on the first day of the draft, five Husky players were selected: OF Mike Wagner (Giants, 5th round); RHP Sean White (Braves, 8th); RHP Jeff Petersen (Giants, 11th); SS Tila Reynolds (Diamondbacks, 11th); and LHP Brian Carter (Cubs, 19th).
