The members of the Husky track teams competing at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, wrapped up the competition on positive notes Saturday.

Senior Ja'Warren Hooker (Ellensburg, Wash.) finished second in the special invitational 200-meter dash in a time of 21.11, only one hundredth of a second behind the race winner, despite running against the wind. Hooker was the defending Drake Relays champion in the event as well as in the 100m dash which he did not compete in this year.

The sprint medley relay team of D'Andrae Alexander (So., Sacramento, Calif.), Greg Forni (So., Spokane, Wash.), Ryan Graham (Fr., Denver, Colo.) and Bevan Brian (Sr., Woodland, Calif.) finished eighth out of 23 teams, clocking a time of 3:24.11 in the event.

Individually, junior Marcus Kelly (Seattle, Wash./Garfield) and freshman Todd Arnold were in action for the Huskies. Kelly finished ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 49-8 1/2, while Arnold placed 13th in the 1500-meter run in 4:01.10.

The distance medley relay team of Dustin Duke (RS-Fr., Bothell, Wash.), Cristian Adams (Fr., Lakewood, Wash.), Hendrik Kok (Fr., Lynden, Wash.) and David Bazzi (Sr., Seattle, Wash./O'Dea) also placed 13th. The 4x110 shuttle hurdle relay team of Greg Barber (Sr., McKinney, TX), Marc James (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.), Brad Goodrich (Maple Valley, Wash.) and Cory Christianson (Jr., Shoreline, Wash.) finished third in their heat, but did not advance to the event finals.

On the women's side, the sprint medley relay team of Jamara Smith (So., Oakland, Calif.), Tesha Moore (So., Everett, Wash.), Chelsie Pentz (Sr., Kitsap, Wash.) and Devin Golob (Fr., Vancouver, Wash.) placed eighth out of 17 competing teams. The sprint medley team members were the only Husky women in action during day three of the Drake Relays.

The rest of the Husky squad is competing at the Oregon Invitational Saturday. Results for the Oregon Invitational will be available later in the day once the evening session has concluded.
