POZNAN, Poland - Another Husky heads to the finals after day three of the 2009 FISA World Rowing Championships.

Conlin McCabe raced for Canada in the repechage of the men's coxed pair Tuesday, finishing third in 7:33.77. The top four boats in the reps head to the final Sunday, August 30. McCabe and team Canada will meet France, Germany and Italy in the final.

In what was an extremely close race, Husky alumni Brett Newlin and Giuseppe Lanzone eked out a fourth place finish in the straight four repechage for team USA. Just eight-tenths of a second separated first through fourth places in the rep and team USA missed the A/B semifinal by five one-hundredths of a second. Newlin and Lanzone crossed the finish in 6:19.95. Belarus won the rep in 6:19.11, followed by Croatia in 6:19.73 and Spain in 6:19.91. Team USA will race in the C final scheduled for Friday.

Up next for the Huskies, Megan Kalmoe competes in the A/B semifinal of the double sculls on Thursday and Max Lang races for team Canada in the men's straight pair A/B semi on Thursday.
