Seattle - The Seattle SuperSonics have opted to move their Friday broadcast in deference to the NCAA men's basketball tournament match-up between the University of Washington and the University of Connecticut. That game will air live on Sports Radio 950 KJR AM. The UW game will tip-off at approximately 6:57 p.m., from the MCI Center in Washington D.C.
The National Basketball Association game between the Sonics versus the Denver Nuggets will air live on KHHO 850 AM, also starting at 6 p.m. and continuing through the post-game show.
KJR is home for Sonics and Husky basketball. The Sonics hold first rights in the event of scheduling conflicts and made the choice to move to KHHO as a salute to the UW's successful run in this year's NCAA tournament.
"In recognition of the Huskies earning a spot in the NCAA's `Sweet 16,' the Sonics are pleased to share the sports airwaves with our friends at the University of Washington," said Seattle Sonics & Storm Vice President of Business Development and Broadcasting John Croley.
The Sonics' pre-game show will air on 950 KJR from 5:30 - 6 p.m., then jump to 850 KHHO. The Husky broadcast will follow to its conclusion, on 950 KJR.
