SEATTLE - The University of Washington athletics department is planning a series of events to honor America's service men and women at this weekend's final home football game of the regular season at Husky Stadium against Pac-10 opponent Stanford.
In honor of Friday's Veterans Day holiday, the Husky athletic department is offering discounted tickets to all military personnel, veterans and their families. Specially-priced tickets, which are 30 percent off the regular ticket price, can be obtained through the UW athletic ticket office by calling 206/543-2200.
Additionally, a number of special activities designed to honor service men and women are planned for Saturday's game. The Husky band will perform a patriotic medley that will feature a flyover by the Whidbey Island Navy Squadron AE6B Prowlers. At halftime, all veterans and active military personnel will be invited to a special parade around the stadium track.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. For fans who are unable to make the game, live coverage will be available on the Washington ISP Sports Network and free on the Internet via the Dawg Channel on GoHuskies.com.
