Mateaki Earns Second-Team Frosh Honors

SEATTLE - Donny Mateaki, a redshirt freshman on the University of Washington football team, has been named a second-team Freshman All-American, The Sporting News has announced.

Mateaki, a defensive tackle from Honolulu, Hawaii (Iolani High School), started four games for the Huskies during the 2003 season. He finished the year with a total of 12 tackles, including a pair of sacks.

Mateaki was also named first-team Freshman All-Pac-10 by The Sporting News, as was classmate Scott White. White, a redshirt freshman linebacker from Lemon Grove, Calif. (Mission Bay High), posted a total of 26 tackles during the 2003 season.
