WASHINGTON COACH Lorenzo Romar:
GENERAL REMARKS: "I think the interesting thing about this game is that we usually have a few guys in double figures, but they scored quite a bit this time. A couple of guys with 25 and 26 points, when there are usually a bunch with 15 or 16. Overall, I think that we got a lot of things accomplished as a team tonight and we were able to move on to the next game."
ON Jamaal Williams: "Jamaal has done a very good job for us. He has been able to be in the game for longer stretches because he is in better conidition and he is playing with a lot of confidence right now. Last year he only average 17 minutes a game and he couldn't go for longer periods of time. This year he is definitely in better condition."
ON BOBBY JONES' INJURY: "He just tweeked it. You know how it is when you hurt an ankle, if you tweek it a little bit you almost have to start all over. He has two days off and we don't play again until next week, so he should have plenty of rest. He should be even healthier the next time that we play."
ON END OF GAME EXECUTION: "We didn't finish well. Not to put a damper on the effort, but we have to do a better job of finishing out there."
ON TEAM'S OVERALL PERFORMANCE: "I think right now guys are settling into their roles. Justin Dentmon is just so calm right now with the ball in his hands. He isn't trying to force the issue and he is delivering the ball out there with six assists and only one turnover. I think that we now understand that we need to get the ball down low to Jamaal and give him room. Guys are just playing their roles out there and that is a good thing."
