The Washington track and field family has a reunion coming up, and is looking to spread the word to as many alumni and friends of the program as possible. Following the conclusion of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships at the Dempsey Indoor on February 27, the Huskies will host a Friends & Alumni Dinner in the Conibear Shellhouse right next to the Dempsey.
The two-day MSPF Championships are Friday and Saturday, Feb. 26-27, and a great chance for alums who may not have visited the Dempsey lately to see the full Husky squad compete in a conference setting against nearly all of the Pac-10 squads including Northwest rivals Oregon and Washington State.
"We haven't attempted to have an alumni gathering in quite some time. It is long overdue!" said head coach Greg Metcalf. "There are hundreds of UW Track and Field alums in and around the Seattle area and we want to see them. Get them involved, hear how they are doing, and just check in. The Dempsey has been rocking and rolling this indoor season. February 27th is a great opportunity for our alumni to watch their Huskies compete and then get together with some former teammates and friends of Husky Track and Field."
After the meet wraps up, the doors of the Conibear Shellhouse will open at 6:30 p.m., with the dinner and program to begin at 7:00 p.m. The current coaching staff will address the group along with select student-athletes. Tickets to the event are $40 and reservations can and should be made soon with Alison Small in the Tyee Club office at 206 221-3588 or by emailing email@example.com
