The Huskies are getting ready for the Blackout of the Century, as the Dawgs face off with No. 9 Stanford, Thursday, Sept. 27 at CenturyLink Field. Washington fans can get ready for the game in four easy steps.
1. GET TICKETS
A limited number of tickets are still available for the Blackout of the Century. Fans can pick-up pro-rated season tickets to catch all the rest of the Husky action at CenturyLink Field this season, or can BUY TICKETS for the Stanford game only.
2. GEAR UP
Head to the Huskies Team Shop's special Blackout section to get all the fresh black Washington gear you need to help Blackout the Cardinal.
3. PLAN AHEAD
Because The Blackout of the Century is on a Thursday night, it's critical that Dawg fans make their gameplan for transportation and have read the Gameday Guide to be as prepped as possible for gameday.
Note: The special Husky Gameday Park and Ride services will not be available for The Blackout of the Century, but all regular weekday Metro and Sound Transit services will be operating on their normal weekday schedules.
4. ARRIVE EARLY
Fans should plan to arrive early for the Blackout of the Century. Starbucks is providing black gloves to the first 25,000 fans, Boeing Employee Credit Union is giving away black beanies to the first 11,000 fans, and black sunglasses will be given to the Dawg Pack, courtesy of Coca-Cola. By planning ahead and arriving early, fans can also be more prepared to navigate midweek downtown traffic.
DAWG PACK SPECIAL EVENTS
Two special events are planned for the Dawg Pack to get psyched for the Blackout of the Century.
The first is the Dawg Pack Blackout Rally, Tuesday, September 25th at 6 pm in Alaska Airlines Arena. The rally is hosted by Coach Sark, and admission is free with a Husky Card. Dawg Pack members can get free food and pick up their official Blackout of the Century t-shirt.
Then on gameday, the Dawg Pack will be meeting for a pre-game rally at 3:30pm, in Hing Hay Park. There will be Taiko Drumming, a Lion/Dragon Dance, and other entertainment before a march down to Century Link to watch the Huskies take on Stanford! The march to the game starts at 5:00pm and will follow the dashed purple line on this map. For more information please go to www.cidbia.org. GO HUSKIES!
