Washington pitcher Tim Lincecum has been named to Baseball America's Summer All-America first-team, the magazine announced yesterday.
Lincecum, who will be a junior for the Huskies in the coming season, had an outstanding summer as a member of the Harwich (Mass.) Mariners in the prestigious Cape Cod League.
A two-time All-Pac-10 first-teamer, he led the league with his 0.69 earned run average, allowing only 14 hits and 11 walks while striking out 68 in 39 innings. Lincecum posted a 2-2 record with seven saves.
Lincecum was one of four Pac-10 players to make Baseball America's Summer All-America squad, alongside USC outfielder Cyle Hankerd, Stanford outfielder Michael Taylor and California third baseman Allen Craig.
The Huskies will hold their first fall practice on Sept. 14 and open the 2006 season next February 10 at New Mexico State.
