LOS ANGELES - Eric Reece went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run while Ben Francisco collected four singles in five at bats to lead the UCLA baseball team to an 11-3 win over Washington Saturday at Jackie Robinson Stadium. The Bruins earned a two-game-to-one series victory with the win.

UCLA made it back to .500 in Pac-10 play with the win, improving to 6-6 in the league and 24-12 overall. Washington fell to 19-13 on the season and 3-9 in the conference.

The Bruins posted two runs in the bottom of the first. With two down, Brian Baron and Francisco connected on back-to-back singles before Josh Arhart walked to load the bases. John Campanella bounced a ball to the right side that was knocked down by second baseman John Otness, but despite keeping the ball in the infield, both Baron and Francisco came around.

Washington tied it at 2-2 in the third. After singles from Andre Marshall and Tila Reynolds, third baseman Michael Done belted a hit-and-run double to left to drive in both runners. In the fourth, the Bruins picked up another pair of runs to go ahead 4-2, thanks to RBI doubles from Reece and Randall Shelley.

UCLA broke the game open with five runs in the fifth. Arhart's three-run homer chased UW starter Clay Johnson (4-3) from the game. Two more unearned runs would score later in the inning after an error by Done at third, giving the Bruins a 9-2 edge.

Washington had its chance to get back into the game in the sixth. With two outs, Bruins starter Paul Diaz loaded the bases on a single and two walks before being relieved by Wade Clark. Clark, however, got out of the jam as Ben Johnson flied out to the warning track in left to end the threat.

Reece added a solo homer to lead off the seventh to close out the Bruin scoring. Husky right fielder Tyler Davidson capped the Husky scoring with a solo homer in the eighth, his second of the season. Diaz (3-0) worked five and two-thirds innings for the winning, allowing five hits and striking out five.

The Huskies return to Seattle this evening before taking on Portland in a pair of 3:00 p.m. games Tuesday at Wednesday at Pilots Stadium.
