SEATTLE - Washington senior pole vaulter Brad Walker, the NCAA's reigning indoor pole vault champion, will field questions from fans in a live internet chat Thursday night at the internet home for collegiate track and field, Trackshark.com.
Fans can begin posting their questions for Walker to the Trackshark Chat Wrap at 8 p.m. PST on Thursday, with the forum scheduled to run until 9 p.m. PST.
A three-time NCAA All-American, Walker won last year's NCAA indoor title with a Pac-10 record clearance of 19 feet, 0 1/4 inch that was nine inches beyond his nearest competitor, and equaled the winning mark at the 2003 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Walker finished the 2003 indoor season ranked third in the world, and sixth in NCAA history, before a hand injury held him out of postseason competition outdoors.
Already a "B" standard qualifier for the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials, Walker has returned in 2004 to use his final season of indoor eligibility to defend his NCAA title, before focusing on qualifying for August's Olympic Games in Athens.
