SEATTLE - Senior quarterback Jake Locker (Ferndale, Wash.) was named the Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 27-Oct. 3 for his part in the Huskies upset over USC on Saturday.
This is the first such honor for Locker on the year and the second for the football team, as Jermaine Kearse was honored for his play vs. Syracuse.
Locker and the Huskies handed USC its first loss of the season and it was the first road win for UW since November of 2007. It was also the first win for UW at USC since Nov. 2, 1996.
The All-American candidate threw for 310 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 111, both team-high's.
Locker led the Huskies down the field in the last 2:34 of the game, trailing by two points. The Huskies went 61 yards on 10 plays as Erik Folk hit a 32 yard field goal to win the game with no time left.
