Coverage Of UW Win Over Stanford

SEATTLE - For the first time this season, the Washington football team finds itself in the Associated Press Top 25 poll as the Huskies earned the No. 23 spot in this week's rankings, announced Sunday morning.

The Huskies (3-1 overall, 1-0 in the Pac-12) edged then-No. 8 Stanford, 17-13, Thursday night at CenturyLink Field and returned to the top 25 for the first time since October 16 of last season, when they were No. 22 following a win over Colorado improved their record to 5-1.

Next Saturday night in Eugene, the Huskies square off with Oregon (5-0, 2-0). The Ducks remained No. 2 in both major polls after beating Washington State Saturday night in Seattle. Game time is 7:30 p.m. at Autzen Stadium and the game will air live on ESPN.

The Huskies did not earn a spot in the USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll, instead finishing just one spot out of the top 25, tops among the "others receiving votes." The UW opened the season two spots outside of the preseason AP Top 25 and one position out of the coaches' preseason poll.
