SEATTLE - This week's Gohuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week is junior wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (Lakewood, Wash.) from the UW football team. Kearse earns the award for the week of Oct. 11-17, for his play in the Oregon State game on Oct. 16.
Kearse caught four touchdown passes from Jake Locker, including the winning pass in double overtime as the Dawgs upset No. 24 Oregon State, 35-34, becoming the first Husky in school history to catch four TD passes in one night.
His first touchdown put the Dawgs up 7-0 after the first quarter, scoring on a 16 yard pass with 4:22 to go.
The Huskies went up 21-0 in the second on Kearse's 45 yard reception. Kearse scored both UW touchdowns in overtime, on 17 and 21-yard passes.
Kearse racked up 146 total receiving yards in the game.
This is the second time Kearse has earned this award this season and the third for the football team. He also earned the honor on Sept. 13 after the Dawgs beat Syracuse.
