SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Cal Poly starter Kyle Anderson pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Mustangs past the Washington baseball team, 2-0, Saturday night at Husky Ballpark.

Anderson (3-0) went the distance, holding the Huskies scoreless on six hits and no walks while striking out 10 in his nine innings of work.

UW junior starter George Asmus (0-1) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on three hits over two and two-thirds innings. Freshman reliever Tyler Davis pitched three and two-thirds innings of one-hit relief and Tyler Kane gave up just one hit over his one and two-thirds innings for the Huskies (9-5).

Cal Poly (11-4) got on the scoreboard for the first time with a run in the second inning. After two quick outs, a single and a walk put two runners aboard for Alex Michaels, whose single to right-center drove in one to give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead.

In the third, a hit batter and an error put two on base for Cal Poly third baseman Jimmy Allen, who singled to drive in a second run.

Washington left fielder Joe Meggs led the Husky offense, going 2-for-3 with a double. He was the only player on either team with more than one hit.

The Huskies and Mustangs wrap up the weekend series with a 1:00 p.m. Sunday. Next week, the UW returns home for four games, hosting Portland on Tuesday and Oregon Friday through Sunday.
