A new 30-minute television show, The Washington Football Experience, will give Husky fans a unique exposure to UW's gameday atmosphere this season. Set to debut on Sept. 5 on Fox Sports Net Northwest, The Washington Football Experience will provide viewers an intimate profile of each Husky game during the 2002 season, starting with the season opener at Michigan.

During the season, the show will air Thursday nights at 7 p.m. PT on Fox Sports Net Northwest. The show will be replayed on Friday at noon. Washington's three-hour, full-game replay will continue to be broadcast on Fox Sports Net Northwest on Sunday afternoon.

Through field-level cameras and microphones, The Washington Football Experience will provide an up-close look at the game, features on Husky players and personalities and first-person perspectives on the action that takes place on the field. Jon Horton, a five-time Emmy Award winning producer will oversee the project.

"We know this is a dramatic change from most sports shows on television right now," says Horton, the show's executive producer. 'To keep the focus on the team, the show will have no host, only a narrator to guide the story along. The focus will be entirely on the story and the game, not the talent. We want the fans to get the player and coach's thoughts from a first person perspective."

The Washington Football Experience is produce by On-Air Media, a partnership of Charter Communications, LLC and Flying Colours Television.

"I can remember going to Husky games as a kid and taking in all the excitement and aspects of the game, from start to finish, says Lenny Fellez, principal of On-Air Media. The Washington Football Experience brings all of the same feelings and perspectives to life; it is like a walk down memory lane.''

"We are very excited about this program, it will be a great complement to our prime time line-up here at Fox Sports Net," says Mark Shuken, general manager of Fox Sports Net Northwest.

"I think we can give the fans a little closer feel for what happens on the field and the sidelines," says Husky coach Rick Neuheisel. "I'm excited about having the opportunity to profile some of our players and letting them tell their stories. I think Husky fans will enjoy the experience."
