WASHINGTON COACH LORENZO ROMAR
"This was very disappointing. Our kids played their heart out twice and have nothing to show for it. It is like digging ditches all week and getting no pay check at the end. I feel like our guys deserved to win two ballgames. The sadness you see in me is that I feel bad for our guys. There are things down the stretch we could have done better. We put ourselves in positions to win and we didn't win."
On Washington's last look in overtime
"I wanted to get one of our guards a chance to make a play and penetrate. Our dribble-drive penetration had been effective all night. It just didn't work at the end."
On the youth of Washington's basketball team
"Our guys played hard and never quit. But we went 0-2 on the weekend. After working so long, it helps to see the fruit of our labor and we didn't see that. We are not interested in playing people close; we are interested in winning. We had our opportunities in both situations this weekend. It is hard to see how hard the guys work and I want them to win. They have a very competitive spirit."
On the play of Washington Forward Mike Jensen tonight
"He played an exceptions ballgame. He rebounded and played well in the low post. He kept his composure and played well."
On a tough practice this week after two back-to-back overtime losses
"We are going out on the road and we have to get them to believe and understand that it is almost there. It is going to be a challenge to get us on an emotionally high level and go out on the road again when we do not play well on the road."
WASHINGTON GUARD NATE ROBINSON
"It hurts a lot. It is frustrating that we are not getting breaks at all. Besides hustling and fighting for every game, it hurts in our hearts to get two losses. Everyone brings different things to the table. I try to bring energy. We all have to make ourselves one body. Coach Romar is the heart of the team. If the heart stops, the body stops. We will keep fighting even harder."
ARIZONA STATE COACH ROB EVANS
"I was very pleased with how hard my guys played tonight. Shawn played extremely well and that just comes from being a senior. He kept us in the game and played well tonight. I thought that this was an important game for us and it was nice to get the sweep on the road this weekend. Our team did a good job finishing out tonight."
On Coach Romar
"Lorenzo has done a great job with such a young team. They played hard tonight and that's Lorenzo's style. He has them playing a tough style of basketball and pressing teams hard the whole game. He has a number of freshman on this team and the future is going to be bright for this team."
On Nate Robinson
"Robinson is great, especially for being a freshman. We tried to recruit him for basketball as well as football, so we knew how tough he was going to be coming into this season. With him in the lineup Washington's just going to keep getting better and better."
